#5 Fresh, bright and sunshine

Peonies are in full bloom, and with the first burst of summer heat warming our homes, there’s that unmistakable fresh scent in the garden, everything opening up at once- a sign that summer is just around the corner. The longer, brighter days lift my mood, and suddenly my body starts craving fresh salads and lighter flavours. And, of course, here in the Southern hemisphere, it is the season in which the festive time of the year is celebrated. 
At Ark, we approach this festive season by celebrating this year with our favorite coffee beans from Ethiopia- Yirgacheffe Kochere Grade 1. As I sampled this wonderful cup, it brought me such delight. Notes of peaches, jasmine, honey, crisp chardonnay. It is blooming with wonderful yumminess. Just the perfect coffee for these warmer days.
Summertime, I naturally get drawn to the lighter roasts, and on very hot summer days, even a cold and sharp cold brew.
