Crafted using the traditional Japanese pottery technique Neriage, different coloured clays are layered, cut, stacked and kneaded together so the patterns become part of the clay itself, flowing naturally throughout the entire piece rather than existing only on the surface.

This plate features two distinct designs divided harmoniously in a half-and-half composition, paired with a soft matte finish that gives the piece a calm, earthy presence. The contrast between the patterns creates movement and character, while the matte texture allows the details within the clay to quietly speak for themselves.

In all of his works, the artist’s purpose is to create pieces that are useful for everyday life - functional pottery designed not only to be admired, but genuinely lived with and enjoyed daily.
